This pass‑through harness brings an internal Mini‑SAS HD SFF‑8087 connection to the outside of a server via a panel‑mounted SFF‑8088 female receptacle on a PCI slot bracket. The assembly provides a straight‑through x4 SAS link between an HBA/RAID card or backplane and external storage such as JBOD shelves or another chassis. Because the external side is SFF‑8088, the operational link is limited to SAS 2.0 rates up to 6 Gb/s per lane, with backward compatibility to 3G devices. SATA traffic can traverse the SAS path when supported by the host and enclosure.
Farsince builds the harness with shielded 28 AWG twinax pairs and a braided sleeve to control EMI in dense racks. The 8087 plug uses a positive‑latch for secure mating; the 8088 panel connector features a metal shell and screw fasteners for robust strain relief. Installation is simple: connect the 8087 to the controller/backplane, mount the bracket, and attach an external SFF‑8088 cable to the storage device. Standard lengths are 0.5 m and 1 m. We support OEM customization for length, right‑angle 8087 options, bracket type (full‑height/low‑profile), labeling and harness integration.
