Typical deployments include connecting an HBA/RAID card with SFF‑8644 to JBOD shelves, external drive cages or expanders equipped with SFF‑8088. The assembly carries four differential lanes; link speed is governed by the lower‑rated interface, so with SFF‑8088 infrastructure it operates up to SAS 2.0 at 6 Gb/s per lane. SATA traffic can traverse the SAS path when supported by the host and enclosure.

Farsince builds this cable with low‑skew twinax pairs, individually shielded and impedance‑controlled to 100 ohms for stable performance in dense racks. Metal backshells with positive latches and pull‑tabs ensure secure retention and quick, tool‑less service. The compact HD side increases panel density while maintaining compatibility with installed 8088 equipment.
