The assembly integrates a QSFP+ plug on the switch side and four SFP+ plugs on the device side, each carrying a 10G NRZ lane. It is suited for top‑of‑rack fan‑out from 40G leaf ports to servers, storage or NICs operating at 10GbE, enabling cost‑efficient short‑reach links within a rack or between adjacent racks in data centers and telecom rooms.

The passive design removes active components and optics to deliver near‑zero latency and low power draw (≤0.5 W from the host). Controlled‑impedance twinax and tight pair skew help maintain low insertion loss and crosstalk, while a 21 mm minimum bend radius supports tidy routing in dense panels.
