Description

This assembly is a passive SlimSAS internal cable with SFF‑8654 4i 38‑pin plugs on both ends. It links a controller or motherboard SlimSAS 4i port to a backplane, expander or mid‑plane that also uses SFF‑8654 4i. Each connector is a straight, low‑profile latch type, carrying four high‑speed differential lanes plus sideband signals. Typical applications include internal SAS4 links from tri‑mode RAID/HBAs to hot‑swap backplanes, or PCIe x4 connections to SlimSAS‑equipped backplanes for U.2/U.3 device bays in 1U–4U servers, JBODs and workstation chassis.

The 0.5 m length supports controlled‑impedance routing for short, low‑loss internal runs, with shielded multi‑lane twinax construction and molded strain relief for reliable retention. The passive design follows the SFF‑8654 4i pinout and is compatible with SAS/SATA and PCIe signaling as defined by the attached hardware, enabling up to 24G SAS per lane or PCIe Gen4 x4 where supported.
