Farsince 800GBASE‑DR8 is a finned‑top OSFP hot‑pluggable optical transceiver for single‑mode short‑reach interconnects. The module maps eight 106.25G PAM4 electrical lanes on the OSFP host to eight optical lanes at 1310 nm through an MTP/MPO‑16/APC receptacle (8 Tx/8 Rx fibers). It supports up to 500 m over OS2/G.652D SMF, enabling high‑density spine‑leaf uplinks, 800G switch‑to‑switch connections, and migration schemes that break a single 800G port into 2×400G‑DR4 or 8×100G‑DR links with the appropriate harness.
A retimed DSP engine paired with EML transmitters and a silicon‑photonic receiver array ensures stable operation and low latency, with CMIS‑based digital diagnostics for real‑time monitoring. The finned‑top housing optimizes airflow in air‑cooled switches, and hot‑swap capability simplifies maintenance. Interoperable with IEEE 800G DR8 optics, the module requires host KP4 FEC. Farsince provides multi‑vendor coding, project labeling and acceptance reports, and matched MTP trunks and breakout assemblies to streamline deployment and maintain channel loss budgets.
