Farsince 40G QSFP+ ER4 is a hot‑pluggable optical transceiver that carries 40‑Gigabit Ethernet up to 40 km over G.652 single‑mode fiber. Inside the module, four 10G electrical lanes are converted to CWDM optical channels at 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm and multiplexed onto a duplex LC/UPC interface. It fits QSFP+ ports on switches, routers and transport platforms, and is suited to enterprise campus cores, metro access rings and data center interconnect where extended reach and LC patching are required.
The design combines DFB‑CWDM transmitters with an APD receiver to provide the link budget needed for 40 km spans while maintaining ≤3.3 W power draw. Digital diagnostics (DOM) per SFF‑8436 support real‑time monitoring for operations and field maintenance. The module interoperates with IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE‑ER4 and can map to OTN OTU3 where supported by the host; FEC is host‑dependent. Hot‑swap installation and standard LC connectivity simplify deployment. Farsince offers platform coding, labeling and project test reports with a stable supply chain for rollout and spares management.
